How do Probiotics Really Work?

Probiotics are good bacteria that line our digestive tract. We have a symbiotic relationship with these bacteria.

There are two Common strands of probiotics,

lactobacillus is a probiotic specie found in a lot of dairy products.

The measure of how many probiotics in a product is called the CFU(Colony Forming Units)

Does Probiotics Improve the immune system?

Bifidobacterium a probiotic increases our immune system by taking up space and crowding out the bad bacteria that can cause infection to our body. What happens is the bad bacteria can take hold in our digestive tract to cause this infection. The bi takes up the space to prevent this.

Does Probiotics interfere with antibiotics?

When we take antibiotics, they do not just kill the bad bacteria but also affects the good bacteria. There is then a need to replenish the probiotics in our body.

  1. They help digestion.
  2. They boost our immune system.
